Dead Pool was made in exchange for WB funding his Bird movie. From what I read it was put into production with half a script and released 4 months later

INDIE the first Dirty Harry movie was supposed to be a one off but it did so well in theaters they had to make more. Originally they offered the role to John Wayne he said no. Then the movie did well John Wayne regretted his decision. So he made his own Dirty Harry type of movie called MCQ.

Much of it was filmed on location in dallas texas, the flame on the guns was real no special effects and rarely worked.

That weird part where he met the girl is like extension of Tinder mixed with Star Trek transporter and the purpose is swinging. Basically, if you want random sex with a stranger, you enter transporter and whoever is also up for it can transport you to their home. Because it's a very low on inhibition society with just young people it makes sense. Girl said she was sad because her friend died so it also makes sense why she wanted some fun.

Indio is a morphin addict, the gun given to the man who's family were murdered was loaded with blanks, there is also clever religious symbolism, that may not seem to suite a violent Western, but again Leoni manages to get it to work. I also liked the fact that Colonel Mortimer had a different agenda (being older & wiser) from Eastwood,s as it turned out an impressive surprise.

One of the many things that are so great about Sergio Leoni films, is the introductions & character developments. He is NEVER afraid to take as much time as needed to show us the nature of the principle characters, these films were made in times when pacing wasnt hurried at break neck speed the way it is in today's film making, where nothing can ever wait, & nearlt everything is confusing, Leoni makes very long films but that are never boring (something VERY hard to do) he is the best story teller

There really wasn’t anything about immortality in this. The people returned hadn’t aged because time slows down for travelers near or at the speed of light. Also, they may have been kept in suspended animation or cryosleep. They’re aliens and have advanced technology.

Look, the movie has a very bad script (some thing are nice, others very well made and some are... well, bad) but i love this movie. Embrace the old zombie B-movie type of cheese of classics like Night of the Creeps and Braindead mix with Carpenter's The Fog and the really og RE1 and RE2 type of cheesy dialogue. I don't know, i hate it because the remakes are like blockbuster horror type of film but the original PS1 games are SO CHEESY! And i miss that, so yeah. Good writing? Not so much. Some good sets and makeup? Yeah. Bad CGI? Yep. And even with all those imperfections is better that all the Paul Anderson movies (except the first one, the 2002 film is great). So again, is a love/hate relationship i have with this, as a fan make me upset, but my love for old b-horror movies makes me love it, is my guilty pleasure and not gonna lie, i want a sequel, i think with more budget and better writing this can get a LOT better (like, nothing can be worse that The Final Chapter or de Netflix show). Pd: I love Jill in this movie, i like her new personality😂.

The writer/director was inspired by reading FBI reports of shootings in the 70’s and 80’s where loads of shots were fired but most were injured or just bled out.

The making of this film is actually insane. It's a ton of shorter shots stitched together seamlessly, rather than one long take. Crazy work they did in it.

I loved your reaction video. My favorite I’ve seen for this film. I love this movie, it’s pretty heavy / disturbing! Very well done too in my opinion, good acting, costumes, sets, music, etc. I finally watched it a couple weeks ago and loved it even though it disturbed me quite a bit lol. I noticed a parallel with him saving the baby bird, and the mother bird flying at him, then he opens a window to try to set the bird free even though it doesn’t leave. The woman in black swoops down on him in the same way when he tries to reunite her with her son. But she’s also trapped because she committed suicide, and in some religious beliefs that lands you in purgatory. I’d wager she’s a ‘wraith’ by ghost lore, as those are vengeful spirits that people see before someone dies. Anyway, her eyes at the end after she sees him reunited with his family almost show a sadness. Like a regret and longing for her to be free, too. Edit: I love gothic horror, too. Have you reviewed the 1960s The Haunting? Or Crimson Peak?

Don not sleeping…another tv/movie trope. I knew someone who suffered from narcolepsy-he slept all the time, but could not reach the deeper stages. He went insane, and it only took about six months, though he was not able to work after just three weeks of that. They need to retire these tired tropes.

Ur right, bending doesnt work like magic it a part of benders themselves. And just like a part of ur body u need to practice any skill u wanna aquire. For example take swimming most people can swim, some are naturals at it some aren't so they have to practice more and thats how bending works. The ability to bend is like any other limb and actual bending is a skill, the prophecy of ur bending depends on the individual themselves. An example, one of the past avatars (not gonna say who cause it might spoil something) was a magnificent earth bender but she had the affinity to easily move giant mountins and masses of earth yet found it more difficult to move smaller parts of earth. Which is really funny when u consider its the opposite for majority of benders. Not gonna mention what she did with that abilitie😅

I’m not gonna give away too much. But if you’re interested about the Avatar reincarnation cycle, you should probably watch The Legend of Korra after you’re done with ATLA. It’s not the masterpiece that is this show, but it is still pretty good and worth a watch, in my opinion. Especially if you end up wanting more content from this universe after you’re done with this show.

17:40 To answer the question "Where has this come from"; it's come from the late-60's, where Hollywood studios would demand some idiotic self-criticism be included in everything depicting the police, even when the character's actions were uncontrovertibly good and noble. You also see it in the Dirty Harry films, and many others of that era.

The book is much much better. Similar story points, but spread across the overpopulated world; not in a dome. The "old man" is really Ballard, the mastermind behind Sanctuary. He's at most 60 in the book. He's also been in plain sight the whole story: obviously, if your lifeclock never turns black, you have to change identities periodically. They struggled to make the Stages on a Sanctuary line, make sense in a dome setting. Like the frozen setting with the "cyborg", Box. In the book, that's the penitentiary in the Antarctic! Box was a human whose body was mangled in a vehicular accident. The cats in Old Washington aren't feral house cats in the book. They're the descendants of the big cats from the DC zoo! I wish this were remade sticking closer to the book: all black uniforms, no color coded clothing; death at 21. (Only 30 in the movie because there weren't enough young actors. I have no idea what the colors mean in the movie. In the book: 0 to 1 years old, white palmflower; 1 to 7 (childhood) yellow; 8 to 14 (adolescence) blue; 15 to 21 (adulthood) red.) At the end of the 20th Century, the world was drowning in overpopulation, leading to the Little War, when adult society is overthrown & the youth oriented society is set up. The government's central computer, Thinker, is reprogrammed to run the systems no one trusted to adults. The saying was "Don't trust anyone over 21." The hypnoteleporting thing, as you put it, was a movie shortcut to not have to build Arcade, where consenting adults go to get a drug buzz & have free sex. Think swinger's club. At the end of Last Day, the dutiful citizen reports to a Sleep Shop for painless euthenasia before their crystal turns black. Sensors throughout each city flag black crystals that come in range. DS Headquarters in the city is then notified about the Runner, so that Deep Sleep Men (Sandmen) can be sent on the hunt. In the book, children aren't given a choice to be Sandmen. They're trained from birth.
